With Bayaud Enterprises’ support, Nicole is achieving her goals and turning her life around.
Nicole came to Bayaud Enterprises in May 2009, seeking support to put her life back together. After many years of drug use, Nicole was incarcerated, and her life began to change. She saw that time as a blessing and a chance to start fresh. When she was released, Nicole promised herself that she would change and never go back to her old lifestyle.
Not knowing where to turn, Nicole stayed at local shelters as she began to look for help. She learned of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and Bayaud Enterprises. Knowing what a difference these programs could make, Nicole applied with
DVR and came to Bayaud looking for resources. During her time at Bayaud Enterprises, Nicole received a vocational evaluation, participated in the General Office Skills Training program, trained at the front desk, and worked in a transitional work adjustment
position at the VA Medical Center work site. While receiving these services, Bayaud connected Nicole to the Delta Dental Foundation to repair dental damage she had suffered from years of drug use.
Nicole has achieved many goals in a very short time. She has become employed full time, moved into her own apartment, received her driver’s license, and was named 2010 Employee of the Year. These amazing accomplishments have rebuilt Nicole’s self-esteem
and she looks forward to every new goal.
