Vocational Services
Vocational Evaluation
Whether you are a business sending an existing employee for training, or an individual seeking to find the right job, our four-week program can help. We use vocational evaluation to determine an individual’s vocational assets, limitations, strengths and behaviors in the context of a real work environment. We then make specific recommendations to the individuals that will be used in the development of the individual’s vocational plan. Testing provides a reliable assessment of vocational achievement, interests, learning styles, abilities and aptitudes.
Our vocational evaluation program is a fee for service program. For more information, please call 303-830-6885.
Community-Based Transitional Work Adjustment
Bayaud Enterprises improves the self-confidence of individuals in our programs by teaching the meaning, value and demands of work through transitional work adjustment positions. For individuals facing barriers to competitive employment, we offer support and the opportunity to address issues in a paid work setting. Individuals in our program learn to meet real-world competitive standards, adhere to workplace protocols, and comply with employer expectations. Our on-site supervisors help each individual master the job, as well as develop appropriate attitudes, characteristics and workplace behaviors.
General Office Skills Training (GOST)
Recognizing that most job placements today require some level of computer literacy, the General Office Skills Training (GOST) program is designed to increase and enhance office computer skills. GOST utilizes an online learning system combined with instructor-led education. Based on the following tools
offered, a self-paced educational program can be created to meet any students’ needs and abilities.
Computer-Based Learning
Students enrolled in the GOST program will spend a significant amount of their time learning basic computer skills, such as internet and e-mail use, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite. Students will access internet-based tools and learning programs, as well as in-class book material and instructor created projects to learn computer skills.
Confidence Building & Self-Esteem
Strong self-esteem is necessary in today’s workforce for many reasons, but most importantly, for success. Students will engage in self-awareness, confidence and self-esteem exercises created by the instructor.
Customer Service & Communication
GOST students will learn basic skills in communication and customer service in order to increase their soft skills employability.
Academics
Students will spend a portion of their time working on math, grammar and spelling in order to increase not only their skills in these areas, but also improve their employability. Studentswill focus on practical math and grammar applications. Students will access activities through instructor-created projects, as well as in-class textbook material.
Office Equipment Training
For students planning to work in an office environment, office equipment training will be available. The instructor will teach students how to use various tools, such as copy and fax machines. Students will also have the opportunity to train on the multi-line phone at Bayaud Enterprises’ front desk.
Group Work
All students will participate in small group and class projects and activities, such as tips and techniques for computer use, communication exercises, writing activities, and self-esteem building exercises.
Quick Books
Quick Books education will be offered to those students whose counselors specify the need for the program.
GOST SocialGo
Every student, regardless of program, will participate in SocialGo, an internet-based program that allows users to create their own social networking site. The GOST SocialGO page will serve as a communication tool between students and the instructor. Students will access threaded discussions, videos,
photos, lessons and assignments using SocialGo. This tool also allows the students’ counselors to view their progress.
The GOST program is a fee for service program. For more information, please call Jessey Jones at 303-830-6885.
